Jonathan Gloag Academy offers the 8-4-4 curriculum and the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). Through our trained and dedicated teaching staff, we are able to offer our pupils the set curriculum and focus on the progress and needs of each pupil. We assess the students with exams every term and monitor the student’s performance with each assessment. Our language teachers also incorporate library lessons that help the students develop their vocabulary, boost their creativity skills, develop critical thinking and enhance their imagination.
What sets Jonathan Gloag Academy apart from the rest is, our Christian Values and our disciplinary system. At the beginning of every term, we incorporate a value of the term that focuses on a specific Christian value, we include a bible verse and songs that make the children understand it in depth. The children reflect on the value and practice it in their daily lives.
In JGA we administer a reward-based system that encourages good behaviour. With the help of JGA money that helps the teachers in instilling discipline in the students. Good behaviour earns a student money and bad behaviour results to the student losing money. At the end of the term the students are able to buy themselves items in the school. This promotes good behaviour in the children.
We are open on Monday – Friday at 8am to 5pm, except on holidays.
